This guide outlines the step-by-step process for conducting employee appraisals using the HR system. By following these instructions, HR users can effectively configure the appraisal system, set up workflows, submit appraisals, and generate reports to evaluate employee performance. The structured approach ensures a seamless and standardized appraisal process that benefits both the organization and its employees.


1. HR User Setup

HR users need to define the foundational elements for the appraisal process:

1.1 Define Appraisal Types

  • Navigate to HR → Appraisal → Appraisal Type.
  • Default types include examples like Good, Very Good, and Excellent.

1.2 Define Appraisal Values

  • Navigate to HR → Appraisal → Appraisal Value.
  • Default values include ranges such as 95% to 100% = Excellent.

1.3 Assign an Alternative Manager

  • Navigate to HR → Appraisal → Alternative Manager.
  • Assign alternative managers for appraisals as needed.

1.4 Define Appraisal Cycles

  • Navigate to HR → Appraisal → Appraisal Cycle.
  • Set up recurring or specific appraisal cycles.

1.5 Define Rating Scales

  • Navigate to HR → Goals → Rating Scale.
  • Use default rating scales or customize them as per the organization’s requirements.

2. Define Appraisal Template

Create and configure templates to standardize the appraisal process:

  • Navigate to HR → Appraisal → Appraisal Template.
  • Add sections and items to the template.
  • Link employees to the created template for appraisals.

3. Define Appraisal Workflow Setup

Set up the appraisal workflow to manage submission and evaluation steps:

  • Navigate to HR → Self Service → Workflow Setup.
  • Add a new Appraisal Request type.
  • Define the steps required in the workflow for smooth processing.

4. Submitting the Appraisal

Follow these steps to initiate and evaluate appraisals:

  1. Navigate to HR → Appraisal → Appraisal Request Activation.
  2. The manager will receive the appraisal request and evaluate the employee.
  3. HR users can track all appraisal requests in the system by navigating to HR → Appraisal → Appraisal Transactions.

5. Generating Appraisal Reports

The system provides four reports for tracking and analyzing appraisal data:

  1. Appraisal Transaction Report: Summary of all appraisal transactions.
  2. Appraisal Status Report: Tracks the status of ongoing appraisals.
  3. Appraisal Transaction Form: Details of individual appraisal transactions.
  4. Performance Result: Provides an overview of employee performance outcomes.

To access these reports:

Navigate to HR → Appraisal → Reports.
